Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. Apart from his role in the drama show telecast globally as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other internationally well-known Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He was also a key part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV series House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. In addition to his mother tongue Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English, and he has mastered diverse accents. Mikkelsen stated that his brother and he were able to learn English initially by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
